PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-cycle engine providing a good rotation state during operation and a smaller value for exhaust gas when fully loaded. SOLUTION: In the two-cycle engine particularly for hand working equipment such as a chain saw or a cutting grinding wheel, an outlet 10 from a combustion chamber 3 and at least one of scavenging passages 12, 15 are provided. The scavenging passages connect a crank case 4 to the combustion chamber 3 at a set position of a piston 5 and scavenging ports 13, 16 of the scavenging passages are open to the combustion chamber 3. An additional passage 14 is provided which has one end 37 open to the combustion chamber 3 and the other end open to at least one scavenging passage 15. The additional passage is open into the combustion chamber 3 during the scavenging port 16 is held closed to the combustion chamber 3 when the piston 5 has move-down stroke motion in a set operated condition. The additional passage 14 is open during idling operation of the two-cycle engine 1 when partially loaded and is closed when the two-cycle engine 1 is fully loaded. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
