<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which surface deflection accuracy of an image carrier or positioning accuracy of each part attached to a process cartridge are improved without bringing on increases in the size and the cost of the process cartridge and in which the process cartridge can be easily attached to and detached from an apparatus main body without unintentionally increasing the attaching and detaching force by preventing abutting of a rotational shaft on an anti-friction bearing, etc. <P>SOLUTION: Flange members are provided on both axial end parts of the image carrier, the flange members are engaged with the rotational shaft provided in the apparatus main body and the flange members of the image carrier are freely rotatably supported through the anti-friction bearing members respectively by the respective side plates of the process cartridge. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
