PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a formed wood piece producing no defect even by inoculation by an automatic inoculation machine and other inoculation work and being securely stricken into a log for Lentinus edodes. SOLUTION: This formed wood piece has a powdery body containing mushroom fungus to be put into punched holes set in the log for mushroom cultivation and having a fungus supporting body 12 formed in the punched hole shape, and a closing member 14 attached to one end of the fungus supporting body 12 and closing an opening part of the punched hole of the log, and a plurality of holes 16 on an end surface 14a of the closing member 14, contacting the fungus supporting body 12. A part of the fungus supporting body 12 or fungi are formed inside of the hole 16 so as to be invadable, and the closing member 14 and the fungus supporting body 12 are united with each other.
