<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a path searching circuit in which a circuit scale is reduced by decreasing the number of correlators, and to provide a path searching method. <P>SOLUTION: In order to determine a power value by adding products of a receiving signal and a spreading code through a plurality of correlators 7 and then squaring I and Q components of the sum, a digital signal from an A/D converter 1 is extended at first at an RAM control section 2. Extended signals are stored temporarily in an RAM 5 according to a synchronization control section 3 and the stored receiving signals are read out according to the RAM control section 2. Since a receiving signal from the RAM 5 outputs one chip of data every clock, four times of data are inputted to the correlator 7 as compared with the case that an input receiving signal is used directly when T times as many clocks as chip rate are used. Since the processing time becomes 1/T, substantially similar processing can be carried out when the number of correlators is decreased to 1/T and the receiving signals stored in the RAM 5 are read out a plurality of times. Consequently, a time required for calculating a correlation value is shortened and a plurality of correlation values can be calculated under the same conditions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
