PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems wherein even dust in a sill groove is detected as foreign matter because a micro-switch extends into the sill groove in a known elevator door safety device, and therefore, even when dust is deposited in the sill groove, the switch misjudges that a string is pinched by a car door, and the car door can hardly be opened/closed safely. SOLUTION: A micro-switch 32a, a detection piece 32b connected to the micro-switch 32a and extending to a car sill 17, and a roller 32c are provided on a lower end of a car door 15. The roller 32c provided on a tip of the detection piece 32b can detect only a string 33 on the car sill 17. Thus, dust in a sill groove is not detected, and the safe opening/closing operation of the car door 15 can be realized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
