PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold assembly whose molding precision can be enhanced without significantly modifying a mold assembly itself or an injection molding machine itself. SOLUTION: In the mold assembly, a product cavity 3 for molding an optical disc is formed between a cavity side half 1 equipped with a cavity block 17 for installing a stamper 27 and a movable half 2 equipped with a core block 46. In addition, a spacer 91 is installed in a positioning ring 19 on the outside periphery of the cavity block 17 around an axis (z) of the product cavity 3. Further, the tip 98 of the spacer 91 is arranged to be brought into contact with a positioning ring 48 of a core block 4 around the axis (z) of the product cavity 3 when the mold is closed. Thus it is possible to perform a highly precise molding process by correcting the interval between the cavity block 17 and the core block 4 and in turn, the thickness of the product cavity 3 through the spacer 91.
