An ice cube dispenser has the ice held in a reservoir (2) with a scoop wheel (3) mounted on the outer wall of the reservoir. The wheel takes ice cubes from the bottom of the reservoir and lifts them to a dispensing chute (5) at the top of the wheel. The front wall of the reservoir, and the plane of the wheel, are inclined forwards to facilitate the dispensing of the ice. The wheel is driven by a silent gearing and the dispensing chute sufficiently large for two cubes, to prevent jamming.
