<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To individually retrieve provide information matching the needs of individual users who use a passenger transport service such as railroad. <P>SOLUTION: When a user of this system passes through an automatic ticket gate while presenting an IC card 100 that functions as a commuter pass, an IC card reader/writer 101 in the automatic ticket gate reads user information and zone information in the IC card 100, and sends the information to a server 102 along with the current time (time when the user passed the gate). Based on the data and a train schedule preliminaly retained, the server 102 specifies the trains that the user is likely to take, more specifically, the latest N numbers of trains, and returns to the IC card reader 101 display data consisting of their systems, kinds, departure times, load factors, lines from which to depart, and vehicle number to take.
