PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To complete fixing in a predetermined range of color thermal recording paper by a single light emission of a Xe lamp, without causing excessive fixing. SOLUTION: A reflecting plate 18, which covers an outer periphery of the Xe lamp 17, is composed of a main reflector 18a which surrounds an upper side of the Xe lamp 17 and both lateral sides, along a main scanning direction, of the Xe lamp 17, and a side reflector 18b which closes both lateral sides, along a subscanning direction, of the main reflector 18a. In the reflecting plate 18, variations in light emission intensity of fixing light in its irradiation range can be limited within a 10% in the subscanning and main scanning directions. Thus, even if the light is emitted by the Xe lamp 17 at a light emission intensity high enough to fix a yellow thermal coloring layer of the color thermal recording paper by the single light emission, a part, wherein the light emission intensity is higher than necessary, does not occur within the irradiation range. This prevents the occurrence of the excessive fixing wherein even a magenta thermal coloring layer is fixed in the fixing of the yellow thermal coloring layer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
