METHOD FOR PRODUCING D-LACTIC ACID

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing D-lactic acid containing decreased amount of pyruvic acid accumulated as an impurity organic acid and difficult to be removed from a medium containing the produced and accumulated D-lactic acid and provide a method for producing D-lactic acid having high optical purity in high efficiency. SOLUTION: D-lactic acid is produced by the aeration culture of an Escherichia coli prepared by transferring a gene encoding D-lactic acid dehydrogenase (excluding the gene encoding D-lactic acid dehydrogenase derived from Escherichia coli). The production method of D-lactic acid comprises the culture of the Escherichia coli in a medium under aeration to form and accumulate D-lactic acid in the medium. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
