<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a person placing an order to correctly grasp the progress of printing, estimate a delay to urge a worker and enhance accuracy of time of delivery, and also study measures to deal with the printing at an early stage. <P>SOLUTION: The person who places the order registers a plurality of processes for forming printing data and printed matter, and a process completion time limit of each process into a portable USB memory at a PC. At a digital printing system 10, the printing data, each process and the process completion time limit of each process are read out from the USB memory. A standard time before any of the processes corresponding to the printing data is handled is acquired, and the process is judged to be behind the standard time or not on the basis of the acquired standard time and the process completion time limit.
