<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for assisting bathing which has a rotatable seat surface and employs an electric sensor without being affected by a water pressure condition. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for assisting bathing is constituted in such a way that a seat surface plane position detecting means is disposed not in a mobile body but in a non-mobile body (an arm part 31b, etc.) and is set at a position of non-submersion under water.
