PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silacyclopentadiene derivetive which can obtain an organic EL element with a low voltage and high luminous efficacy. SOLUTION: The silacyclopentadiene derivetive is represented by following formula (1) (wherein X and Y are each independently a saturated or unsaturated 1-6C hydrocarbon group, a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic group, or structure which comprises a saturated or unsaturated ring by binding X with Y; R<SB>1</SB>-R<SB>4</SB>are each independently a substituted or unsubstituted 1-6C alkyl group, a perfluoroalkyl group, a diarylamino group, a silyl group, an aryl group, or a heterocyclic group, or these groups may form a ring by bonding with each other at any position when they are mutually adjacent).
