PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throwaway tip having a long service life with high chipping resistance of a cutting edge in the throwaway tip with a hard coating layer. SOLUTION: An intersecting ridge 4 of a rake face 2a and a flank 3 of the throwaway tip 1 is made the cutting edge 6, and the hard coating layer 9 is attached and formed at least from the rake face 2a to the flank 3 while forming a cutting edge notching part 10 where the hard coating layer 9 discontinuously lacks in the cross sectional shape of the cutting edge 6 near the intersecting ridge 4.
