PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the weight saving and cost reduction of an actuator. SOLUTION: A rotary drive source 16 is connected with one end part side of a frame 14, the rotary drive force of the rotary drive source 16 is transmitted to a slider 20 through a driving pulley 48, a belt member 56 and a driven pulley 54, and the slider 20 is displaced along the axial direction of the frame 14 under the action of a guide mechanism 22. The frame 14 and the slider 20 are made out of an aluminum alloy and the like, and first guide rails 42a, 42b mounted on the frame 14 and second guide rails 86a, 86b mounted on a side face of the slider 20 are made out of a quenched metallic material.
