PURPOSE: A novel electrolyte solution additive and a lithium ion secondary battery using the additive are provided, to obtain a battery having a high capacity and an excellent lifetime. CONSTITUTION: The electrolyte solution additive is represented by the formulas 1-10, wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are H, a phenyl group, a benzyl group, an acetyl group or an alkyl group of C1-C15 and can be connected by C-C bond. The lithium ion secondary battery comprises a graphitized carbon which is an anode active material and can store and emit lithium reversibly; a lithium-containing transition metal oxide which is a cathode active material and can store and emit lithium reversibly; a porous separator; and a nonaqueous electrolyte solution containing at least one additive. Preferably the content of the additive is 0.001-20 wt% based on the weight of an electrolyte solution. |
