<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road lamp monitoring device and a monitoring method wherein monitoring work can be carried out by a daytime travelling vehicle without taking a long time of communication while avoiding an interference of communication. <P>SOLUTION: This road lamp monitoring device comprises a road lamp additional device that has a state detection means for detecting the state of the road lamps A-D, a-d and a transmission circuit that transmits road lamp state information detected by the state detection means and road lamp installation-location information as road lamp information, and in which the road lamp additional devices are installed to a plurality of road lamp poles or in vicinities of them. The transmission circuit transmits the road lamp information to a communication device installed in the travelling vehicle 4 for collecting the road lamp information, and the road lamp additional device receives a transmission signal which the adjoining road lamp additional devices transmit to the communication device and determines its own transmission timing to the communication device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
