<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the down time of an electronic device in an image forming apparatus or the like. <P>SOLUTION: When an unusable factor (down factor) is detected within a previously set down-time measuring period (prescribed period), a CPU in the image forming apparatus 100 measures the down time (unusable time) in which the image forming apparatus 100 can not be used due to the occurrence of the unusable factor, and at each time when the measured time reaches any of a plurality of previously set down-time reporting threshold values, the unusable state is reported to a vender side management device 102. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
