<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method and a mobile communication device for providing a protocol to transfer data to the mobile communication device via an optical communication link and to update a data file held in the mobile communication device. <P>SOLUTION: A method of acquiring the data file in a mobile communication device 12, having a data storage location 15, wherein the mobile communication device includes a CCD camera 14 as an optical data capture mechanism, includes: a step S16 of providing data in a computer readable form; a step S18 of determining if the data can be stored in a single graphics file; a step S23 of converting data to a graphical representation; and a step S32 of reading and storing the graphic representation by the CCD camera 14 that is the optical capture mechanism, in the mobile communication device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
