PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for setting, which proceeds without human assistance, for an electric filter. SOLUTION: The method and the device according to the invention are used for setting for an electrical filter comprising a predetermined number of filter elements indicative of tolerance such as a short-circuit line, a resonator, impedance and disposed in a distributed way. An actual filter characteristic curve does not coincide with a theoretical filter characteristic curve. At first, a pulse having a predetermined center frequency (f0) is given to the filter. Then, each filter element is adjusted on the basis of impulse response (UA) of the filter. Conveniently, filter elements are adjusted one by one from an input terminal 1 of the filter.
