PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium or the like in which deterioration in error correction performance is avoided to suppress wasting of recording regions in the case of reproduction using the information recording medium. SOLUTION: In a DVD disk, a linking area is inserted in the boundary part between an ECC block (n - 1) of a data A and an ECC block (n) of a data B. The linking area consists of two sync frames and to each sync frame sync codes SYX, SYY distinguishable from the other sync codes in the ECC block are added, and the position of the linking area is discriminated by detecting them at the reproduction. From the above constitution, each ECC block is constituted of 16 x 26 sync frames, while the linking area can be constituted of only two sync frames, therefore, the storage capacity can be effectively utilized by avoiding the deterioration in the error correction performance to raise reliability, and reducing wastes of a recording area.
