<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump water heater capable of supplying the hot water by inhibiting the running-out of hot water even when an evaporator is frosted. <P>SOLUTION: This heat pump water heater comprises a frost formation detecting means for detecting the frost formation on the evaporator, a defrosting means for defrosting the evaporator when the frost formation is detected, a remaining hot water detecting means for detecting the amount of remaining hot water stored in a hot water storage tank, and a means for integrating a time of frost formation in the case when the amount of remaining hot water detected by the remaining hot water detecting means is less than a specific value, and delaying the defrosting on the basis of an integrated value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
