PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorbent for an adsorptive heat pump or a desiccant air conditioner which can be easily produced and can be an alternative to zeolite. SOLUTION: This adsorbent for an adsorptive heat pump or a desiccant air conditioner comprises an adsorbent comprising a coordinate polymer comprised of at least one metallic element and at least one organic ligand containing a hetero-element. The metallic element is preferably a d-block element and is more preferably one or at least two elements selected from the group consisting of Co, Cd, Cu, Fe, Ni, Ru, Zn, and Rh.
