An information storage medium recording text-based subtitle information, a processing device and a method thereof are provided to include subtitle text data outputted by being synchronized with AV data and subtitle data that stores output style information for designating an output type of a subtitle text in text type, thereby remarkably reducing an amount of data to be processed. Dialog information(110) includes text change effect information and a formatting code for text. Presentation information(120) includes style information to be used for rendering subtitle text, and consists of plural style groups. The style groups are bundles of styles where style information is recorded. The styles include information to be used for subtitle text rendering and screen outputting. Meta data(130a,130b) include information necessary for carrying out additional functions except for outputting subtitles.
