A call forwarding/reporting method of an IP telephone is provided to enable an IP telephone user to directly receive a call incoming in an IP telephone by using an Internet messenger and e-mail, or to report the call to the user, so that the user can receive the call by using a PC connected to the Internet. An IP telephone receives a registered Internet messenger account and an e-mail address, and sets a call forwarding function(S10,S12). If a VoIP(Voice over IP) call connection attempt is received from a random originating subscriber(S14), the IP telephone sends a receiving report message to the Internet messenger account, and requests a voice chatting(S16). The IP telephone decides whether a user allows the voice chatting(S18). If so, the IP telephone connects a VoIP voice channel with the originating subscriber, and connects an Internet messenger voice channel of a remote user PC(S20). If a call completion is requested from the originating subscriber or the user(S22), the IP telephone stops the voice chatting, and releases the connection between the Internet messenger voice channel and the VoIP voice channel(S24).
