<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DLP projector which is light, small, inexpensive, and has a short light path, and is further able to improve projection quality. <P>SOLUTION: A digital light processing projector comprising a light source, a splitter module, a plurality of total internal reflection prisms (TIR), and a digital mirror device (DMD), a coupler, and a projection lens is provided. The splitter module is located in the optical path of the light behind the light source to split the light into a plurality of color light. Each color light is made incident to the total reflection planes of the TIR prisms at incident angles larger than their critical angles, and is then totally reflected by the DMD. Thereafter, each color light is made incident to the total reflection planes of the TIR at incident angles smaller than the critical angles and is reflected by the DMD, and then passes through the TIR prisms directly. The color light passing through the TIR prisms is coupled by the coupler, and then projected by the projection lens. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
