PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document feeder of a document reader capable of reading both sides, delivering and piling read document in a condition collected in an order of page and making it easy to distinguish non-read document, switch back document and read document. SOLUTION: This document feeder is composed of a document supply tray 4 provided with a feeding means 4a feeding out document D stacked facing downward from a lower layer, a roughly transverse first feeding passage 6 feeding the document via a reading part P reading an image from lower side, a one side delivery tray 10 provided on the extension of the first feeding passage, a second feeding passage 11 branching off the first feeding passage 6 upward and merging to the first feeding passage 6 via a reversing part 14 of fed document, a third feeding passage 16 branching off the second feeding passage 11 and formed to bend to the document supply tray 4 side, and a both side delivery tray 18 provided on an extension of the third feeding passage 16 and positioned on an upper part of the reversing part 14.
