<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device, a manufacturing method thereof, and an electronic appliance having the mounted electro-optical device wherein the taking efficiency of an FPC out of a mother material is improved and the FPC board and its components provided thereon can be used efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: The electro-optical device can be used as, e.g., a liquid crystal display, etc., and is applied preferably to a double-sided display type electronic appliance having a pair of large and small electro-optical panels. The second electro-optical panel is so provided on the back surface of the first electro-optical panel larger than it as to provide in its periphery a flexible wiring board connected electrically with the first electro-optical device. The flexible wiring board is so constituted as to connect with each other electrically a plurality of nearly strip-form wiring boards by connective elements. Thereby, the flexible wiring board can be so created out of a single mother material without uselessness as to be able to reduce its manufacturing cost, in comparison with the case wherein the flexible board provided in the periphery of the electro-optical panel is formed as a sheet of lateral-U-shaped or square-frame-form wiring board. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
