PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body structure capable of restraining partial bending deformation of a pillar member by efficiently dispersing load input from side, and effectively restraining invasion into a cabin. SOLUTION: A center pillar 4 is bent outward in a vehicle width direction. The center pillar 4 and a roof cross member 11 are continued in the vehicle width direction in a flat view to make rigidity at an upper portion larger than a lower portion by providing a rigidity adjusting means 15 at the center pillar 4, and to set a rotational center C of the center pillar 4 at a roughly center portion in the vehicle width direction of the roof cross member 11. On the other hand, an upper portion displacement restricting means 16 is provided at an upper joint portion K1, and a lower displacement expediting means 17 is provided at a lower portion joint portion K2. Therefore, side surface collision load is efficiently dispersed as a shaft force of the center pillar 4, and the invasion restraint effect into the cabin portion can be improved by displacing the center pillar 4 from the rotational center C to the lower portion.
