PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the number of times of folding of a folding means by detecting a load at the time of stapling a sheet bundle, that is, by judging the load from a driving current value of a staple motor. SOLUTION: This sheet processing device B is provided with a stapler unit for stapling the sheet bundle, a current detector for detecting the load when stapling the sheet bundle by the stapler unit, a sheet folding processing part for folding the sheet bundle by a pair of folding rollers by feeding the sheet bundle between the pair of folding rollers by projecting the stapling position of the sheet bundle by a striking plate 79a, and a control circuit 117 control means for making the pair of folding rollers perform more folding operations in relation to the same sheet bundle when the load exceeds a prescribed load by rotating and controlling fixed rollers of the pair of folding rollers, than folding operations when the load is less than the prescribed load.
