PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element having high emission efficiency, and a display device or a lighting system equipped with it. SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescent element has one or more organic layers between a negative electrode and a positive electrode. The organic electroluminescent element is characterized by containing, in at least one of the organic layers, a multi-branched structure compound having a core compound being a luminescent compound and having a repeating unit expressed by general formula (1) at least in the second generation or in a subsequent generation.
