PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material excellent in storage stability, particularly a heat developable photosensitive material used for image recording for medical diagnosis, giving high image quality and excellent in storage stability. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive material contains at least a photosensitive silver halide, a nonphotosensitive silver supply substance, a reducing agent and a binder on at least one surface of a support, wherein the heat developable photosensitive material contains at least one compound having a water-soluble group and capable of releasing halogen and at least one compound having no water-soluble group and capable of releasing halogen and has a gradient of 2.5-4.0 on a photographic characteristic curve.
