PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rearing cage having pockets formed into a plurality of stages, so improved that an opening part positioned on a top area of the pocket of each of the stages is opened and closed by a single action, without stitching the opening part of the pocket of each of the stages by a binding thread, and effort for opening and closing the opening part and working time for opening and closing the opening part are extremely saved. SOLUTION: This rearing cage has a base net fabric which has a suitable length and a suitable width and upper net fabrics the each of which has a width equal to or narrower than the width of the base net fabric and a suitable length, wherein both sides of each of the upper net fabrics are fastened to the base net fabric, so as to form the pockets, by leaving an appropriate length in a top part of the upper net fabric to be not fastened, after arranging the upper net fabrics at certain intervals and piling them on the base net fabric over an adequate number of the stages. Opening and closing crosspieces are each attached to a top edge part of each of the upper net fabrics, and both sides of the opening and closing crosspiece of each of the stages are attached to intermediate parts of an opening and closing rope. When the intermediate parts of the opening and closing rope are each fastened to both the sides of the opening and closing crosspiece of each of the stages, the opening and closing rope is passed through a mesh of the base net fabric, pulled out in the direction of the back side of the base net fabric, again passed through another mesh of the base net fabric, and further pulled out in the direction of the front side of the base net fabric, so that the intermediate parts of the opening and closing rope are each fastened to the opening and closing crosspiece of each of the stages.
