PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve system with a cylinder resting mechanism of an internal combustion engine, capable of shortening the total length of a camshaft, and capable of reducing work man-hours, by resting both suction and exhaust rocker arms by a single resting cam per one cylinder. SOLUTION: While arranging low speed and high speed driving rocker arms 32 and 38 on both front and rear sides of a suction driven rocker arm 11, an exhaust driving rocker arm 49 is arranged on the front side of an exhaust driven rocker arm 43. An exhaust cam 7 for driving an exhaust driving rocker arm 49 and a resting cam 8 for a cylinder resting mode, are arranged between a low speed cam 6 and a high speed cam 9 for driving the low speed and high speed driving rocker arms 32 and 38. A suction and exhaust valve is respectively driven in opening and closing in response to switching of a mode by the single driven rocker arms 11 and 43, and sliding contact parts 15a and 47a of these driven rocker arms 11 and 43, are allowed to abut onto a common resting cam 8.
