An electromotive compressor is provided to restrain generation of heat in an inverter and to improve the cooling efficiency of an electromotive motor by sucking a refrigerant into an inverter housing before supplying the refrigerant to a swash plate chamber while cooling the electric motor with a part of the refrigerant going by way of a motor chamber, thereby improving performance of an electromotive compressor and preventing the compression efficiency from lowering. A motor part(10) includes a motor housing(10) having an electromotive motor(13) at an inner motor chamber(12) for rotating a driving shaft(14). A front housing and a rear housing(30,60) are formed at one side of the motor part and have suction chambers(31,61) and discharge chambers(32,62) respectively and a refrigerant discharge port(64) is formed at one of the front and rear housings. A cylinder block(40) is installed between the front and rear housings and has a plurality of bores(41a,42a). A swash plate(50) is installed in a swash plate chamber(43) in the cylinder block so that the swash plate is rotated with the driving shaft. A piston(51) reciprocates in the bores, interworking with the swash plate. An inverter housing(80) has a refrigerant suction port(81) for sucking an external refrigerant in and supplying the sucked refrigerant to the swash plate chamber and has a motor control element(82) inside. A plurality of low pressure communicating paths(34,41b) are formed to make the swash plate chamber communicate with the motor chamber. A plurality of suction communicating paths(35) are formed at the front housing to make the refrigerant of the motor chamber flow into a suction chamber(31).
