An electromotive compressor is provided to restrain generation of heat in an inverter and to improve the cooling efficiency of an electromotive motor while preventing a noise and reducing pulsation in sucking a refrigerant in by supplying some of a refrigerant sucked into a muffler housing to a swash plate chamber and the rest of the refrigerant to a motor chamber. A motor part(10) includes a motor housing(11) having an electromotive motor(13) at an inner motor chamber(12) for rotating a driving shaft(14). Front and rear housings(30,60) are formed at one side of the motor part and have suction chambers(31,61) and discharge chambers(32,62) respectively. A refrigerant discharge port(64) is formed at one of the front and rear housings. A cylinder block(40) is installed between the front and rear housings, having a plurality of bores(41a,42a). A swash plate(50) is installed in a swash plate chamber(43) in the cylinder block for being rotated with the driving shaft. A piston(51) reciprocates in the bores, interworking with the swash plate. A muffler housing(80) has a refrigerant suction port(81) for sucking an external refrigerant in. A first low pressure passage(82) makes the muffler housing communicate with the swash plate type and a second low pressure passage(15,35,83) makes the muffler housing communicate with the motor chamber to supply some of the refrigerant sucked into the muffler housing to the swash plate chamber and to supply the rest of the refrigerant to the motor chamber. A plurality of suction communicating paths(34) are formed at the front housing to make the refrigerant of the motor chamber flow into a suction chamber(31).
