<p>The gear shift unit to be used in a vehicle with a right hand drive as well as in a vehicle with a left hand drive is equipped with a particularly short gear shift lever (14) joined with two parallel positioned transversal elements (15, 16) to a second gear shift lever (17). The lower element (15) is designed as a cardan shaft assembled of two segments to be moved in relation to each other in a housing and provided with universal joints (20, 21, 22, 23) at both ends. The upper element (16) is made of a single piece and also provided with universal joints (24, 25, 26, 27) to be connected to extensions (28, 29) protruding from the two levers (14, 17).</p> |
