Portable power supply unit, comprising two hinged solar cell panels (1, 2) being foldable between a closed position with the panels (1, 2) against each other and an open position for receiving light, the panels being connected with rechargeable batteries (8) in a housing to which also the panel hinge is secured, and further comprising an electrical circuit (7) and a socket (6).
