摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen sensor and a hydrogen concentration detecting method which detect a hydrogen concentration by a change of an optical reflectance on a surface due to hydrogenation. SOLUTION: In this hydrogen sensor for detecting hydrogen by monitoring the change of the optical reflectance, using a thin film material of which the physical properties are varied by contacting with an atmosphere containing hydrogen to be hydrogenated, (1) the thin film material is a magnesium-nickel alloy thin film, or magnesium thin film, (2) a catalyst layer is formed on the thin film material, and (3) the optical reflectance on the surface is changed by reaction with hydrogen at an ambient temperature (around 20°C).
