<p>An organometallic transition metal compound (I) is new. An organometallic transition metal compound of formula (I) is new. [Image] M 1>elements of groups 3-6 of periodic table or lanthanides; X : organic or inorganic anionic monovalent ligand, with two radicals X may join to form divalent radical; n : 1-4 and is equal to oxidation state of M 1> minus 2; R 1>H, 1-40C radical unbranched in alpha -position or 1-40C radical bound via sp 2>-hybridized carbon atom; R 2>3-40C radical branched in alpha -position; R 3>(un)substituted 6-40C aryl radical or 2-40C heteroaromatic radical containing O, N, S and/or P; R 4>1-10C n-alkyl; R 4a>H or 1-10C n-alkyl; R 5>-R 8>H or 1-40C radical; and Z : bridge containing divalent atom or divalent group. Excluding the possibilities: dimethylsilanediyl(2,6-dimethyl-4-phenylindenyl)(2-isopropyl-4-phenylindenyl)zirconium dichloride, dimethylsilanediyl(2,6-dimethyl-4-phenylindenyl)(2-isopropylindenyl)zirconium dichloride and dimethylsilanediyl(2,5,6-trimethyl-4-phenylindenyl)(2-isopropyl-7-methylindenyl)zirconium dichloride. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) biscyclopentadienyl ligand system of formula (II) or its double bond isomer; (2) catalyst system containing the organometallic transition metal compound(s) and co-catalyst(s); (3) preparation of polyolefin which involves polymerizing or co-polymerizing olefin(s) in the presence of the catalyst system; (4) preparation of polypropylene/propylene-ethylene copolymer mixture using the catalyst system; (5) use of biscyclopentadienyl ligand system for preparation of organometallic transition metal compound; and (6) preparation of organometallic transition metal compound which involves reacting biscyclopentadienyl ligand system or bisanion with a transition metal compound.
