PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a deterioration in filling efficiency in a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: The heat accumulator of an internal combustion engine is equipped with a heat accumulating tank 8 for storing cooling water (hot water) heated to high temperatures by engine operation of the internal combustion engine when an engine of an internal combustion engine is stopped. When or before restarting the internal combustion engine, the high temperature cooling water stored in the heat accumulating tank 8 is supplied to warm up the internal combustion engine. An outer pipe 28 of an intake duct 24 having a double-pipe structure which is a passage for air supplied to the combustion chamber 13 is taken as the heat accumulating tank 8. Accordingly, even if the quantity of heat discharged to a space around the surface of the internal combustion engine 1 body is increased, resin 27 (a heat insulator) forming the outside of the heat accumulating tank 8 can intercept the heat discharged from the internal combustion engine 1 body, thereby suppressing the deterioration in the filling efficiency caused by excessive heating of air supplied to the combustion chamber 13.
