<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antifog optical article which has an excellent wear resistance, permits prevention of water spotting, does not require auxiliary devices and, even in any use environment, is capable of preventing the fogging due to fine water droplets without injuring the optical performance by imparting an antifog performance, and to provide a manufacturing method of the antifog optical article. <P>SOLUTION: The antifog optical article has a plurality of hydrophilic regions whose one region has area of 5×10<SP>-12</SP>m<SP>2</SP>to 1×10<SP>-6</SP>m<SP>2</SP>on the surface side of a substrate. The manufacturing method of the antifog optical article comprises a process of depositing hydrophilic or water-absorbing composition on plural parts of the surface side of the substrate and a process of forming a plurality of hydrophilic regions by drying/curing the composition. Further, the manufacturing method of the antifog optical article comprises a process of forming a plurality of recessed parts on the surface side of the substrate, a process of filling the hydrophilic or water absorbing composition into a plurality of the recessed parts and a process of forming a plurality of the hydrophilic regions by drying/curing the composition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
