PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft sinking equipment with high sinking efficiency capable of ensuring the same sinking capacity as that of a clam shell type sinking equipment and being excavated without obstacle even if there is a lump of rock in a casing. SOLUTION: The shaft sinking equipment is equipped with a frame 2, four sinking buckets 3, a hydraulic cylinder 4 making opening and closing operation of each sinking bucket 3 and a stabilizer 5. The sinking bucket 3 is equipped with a V-shaped sinking arm 23 bending a middle part and a shell wall 24 fixed to the sinking arm 23. The basic end of the sinking arm 23 is connected to a sill 17 of the frame 2, the operating end of the hydraulic cylinder 4 is connected to the middle part of the sinking arm 23, and the front end locus of the sinking arm 23 is formed in the shape of a partial circular arc inclined downward toward the bucket center. The shell wall 24 is formed of a partial spherical shell-like main wall 31 and a bank wall 32 surrounding a bucket space on the upper edge side of the main wall 31 in a crown-shape, and a bucket capacity is earned.
