<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an individual recognition device by which the face of a history image is stationed at the mid section of the image, and to provide the probability that the face turns to the front is high to clearly identify a recognized person. <P>SOLUTION: The individual recognition device involves: continuously inputting a plurality of frames of the face images of the recognized person by using a video camera; successively checking feature information on the face specific to the person obtained from the respective input face images on the plurality of the successively inputted frames against dictionary information previously stored on a dictionary storage means; obtaining the degrees of similarity in both information, respectively; and recognizing whether the person is the subject by referring to each of the obtained similarities.
