A weather information providing system and a method thereof are provided to transmit present position information to a call center on the ground of GPS data of a navigation and then to enable the call center to provide weather forecasting information around the position of a user. An information input part(10) detects an information request signal of a driver. A navigation unit(30) is installed with a GPS module, and provides path guide information to a destination of a vehicle. A DIS(Driving Information System) unit(20) connects a call center(50) to a radio communication network, and requests weather information to an operation server of the call center by receiving the present position information from a GPS of the navigation unit, and provides weather information of the present area provided from the operation server of the call center. And a display part(40) displays the received weather information and the whole operation of the navigation unit.
