A precision friction tester is provided to use test samples having various shapes without exerting influence on vibration of a motor while precisely measuring amplitude variation of frictional force. A precision friction tester includes a rotational driving section, a sample mounting section, a load and torque measurement section and a data processing section. The rotational driving section has a drive servo motor(1), a reduction unit(2), a lower driving shaft(3), an upper driving shaft(4), a magnetic coupling(5) and a speed adjuster(24). The sample mounting section includes a first holder(6), a second holder(9), a sample arm(10), a bearing(14), a horizontal gauge(15), a horizontal adjustment weight(16), a fixing bolt(17), a micrometer(19), and a moving plate(20). The load and torque measurement section includes a load cell(11), a load weight(12), a fixing pin(13) and a torque sensor(18).
