<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail support device capable of easily adjusting a fixing state of a handrail coping and a vertical rod, even after placing the vertical rod on a bracket, when supporting the lower end of the vertical rod by the bracket installed in a building, by fixing the upper end of the vertical rod to the handrail coping by rotating the whole vertical rod. <P>SOLUTION: This handrail support device fixes the lower end of the vertical rod for fixing the upper end of the vertical rod to a tubular coping 7 by rotation of the vertical rod 6, to the other end upper surface of the bracket fixed to the building. An inside screw groove 16 is continuously arranged on the innermost side on the lower end of the vertical rod, and a polygonal hole 17 for fitting a polygonal wrench is continuously arranged on this side. A circular fitting hole 4 for fitting a lower end part of the vertical rod is bored in a bracket upper surface, and an operation hole having a diameter smaller than the circular fitting hole, and capable of operating the polygonal wrench, is bored in its lower part.
