PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an IR sensor 31 hard to be influenced by temperature of cold air. SOLUTION: An air conditioner for a vehicle has an air conditioning unit 51 for cooling air and discharging the cooled air from a face discharge port 5c into a cabin, the IR sensor 31 for detecting surface temperature of a detected region in the cabin in a non-contact manner, and an electronic control device 30 for cooling the air with the air conditioning unit 51.
