<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the decline of the detection accuracy of an object caused by the too high intensity of a reflected wave. <P>SOLUTION: A laser radar sensor 5 has a laser diode 75 for emitting laser light, and a polygon mirror 73 for reflecting the laser light emitted from the laser diode 75 and scanning a prescribed measuring area. Reflection surfaces having different reflectances to the laser light are formed on the polygon mirror 73, and the intensity of the output laser light is changed by switching the reflection surface on the polygon mirror on the basis of the traveling speed of a vehicle, the distance to a reflecting object, the reception intensity of a reflected wave from the reflecting object or the like. Resultantly, the detection accuracy of the object can be improved, because, when detecting an object at a long distance or an object having a low reflectance to the laser light, the laser light intensity is heightened, and when detecting an object at a short distance or an object having a high reflectance to the laser light, the intensity can be changed so as to lower the laser light intensity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
