<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine starting device having simple construction for reducing manufacturing cost while improving anti-theft effects by avoiding the start of an engine with the mechanical destruction of structural parts by a third party. <P>SOLUTION: The engine starting device comprises an ignition switch mechanism 3 for starting or stopping the engine, an operation knob 1 for allowing the turning operation of a driver between an ON-position and an OFF-position, a clutch mechanism 2 for connecting or disconnecting the operation knob 1 to or from the ignition switch mechanism 3, a transmitting means 5 to be carried by the driver for transmitting an ID code, and a receiving means 6 for receiving the ID code from the transmitting means 5. When the receiving means 6 receives the ID code from the transmitting means 5, the clutch mechanism 2 puts the operation knob 1 and the ignition switch mechanism 3 into a connectable condition, and when the receiving means 6 does not receive the ID code, it puts the operation knob 1 and the ignition switch mechanism 3 into a disconnected condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
